This 125,000 sq. ft. building is comprised of 5 floors of office space. Working in concert with one another: architects, structural engineers and Insight team members were able to create an integrated ductwork-joist system which allowed for a more efficient use of floor space in comparison to other similar sized office buildings. It should come as no surprise that this project was the 2007 recipient of the NAOIP Rex award in office development. The Insight Team was responsible for the pursuit, design and construction oversight.
The project is designed using Class “A” mechanical systems, achieving extremely high energy efficiency at price levels similar to typical suburban office space.
A central water cooled chiller provides chilled water to VAV compartment units on each floor, and central boilers serve perimeter heating needs.
Low-flow plumbing fixtures to reduce water consumption.
Demand controlled ventilation based on occupant load is integral to conserve energy under partial occupancy conditions.
Fan-powered boxes help create superior indoor air quality by providing consistent fresh air, and at the same time reducing net energy consumption.
One of the first natural gas fired emergency generators was installed on this project.
