Brisbon Brook Beynon
The Mitchell Partnership
The amalgamation of 13 Durham Region departments was a driving factor in the design and construction of this six story 345,000 sq. ft. facility. Police Services, Provincial Offenses, Court Services, Social Services, Economic Development, Clerks, Finance, Planning, Information Technology, Tourism and Works have all been headquartered in this state of the art facility. The facility is also home to the Council Chambers and all the headquarters are tired to a central galleria. The Insight Team was responsible for the pursuit, design and construction oversight.

The project is designed using Class “A” mechanical systems, achieving extremely high energy efficiency at price levels similar to typical suburban office space.
Central water cooled chillers provide chilled water to VAV compartment units on each floor, and central boilers serve perimeter heating needs.
N+1 redundancy for cooling serving critical IT infrastructure.
Demand controlled ventilation based on occupant load is integral to the design to conserve energy under partial occupancy conditions.
Fan-powered boxes help create superior indoor air quality by providing consistent fresh air, and at the same time reducing net energy consumption.
